April 4, 2018 – Don Rawnsley

Don Rawnsley will demonstrate how to make a refrigerator stick pen and a magnet holder using contrasting wood (walnut and maple).

  • Southern Maine Woodturners needs a Librarian. If you are interested, please volunteer.
  • We had four visitors and/or new members attending the April meeting.
  • The club recently came across some partially completed turnings from Nick Cook’s club demo a few years back. The membership voted to contact the Seacoast Woodturners (Newington, NH) to see if they were interested in taking the pieces, finishing them and selling them for one of their charitable events. Secretary Johnna Klukas offered to contact the Seacoast president about the pieces. UPDATE: Johnna sent an e-mail and pictures last week before the Seacoast club meeting but have not received a response yet.
  • Adam Courtemanche asked people to contact him if they were interesting in having a video demonstration recorded in their workshop. Adam Courtemanche asked if the club was interested in purchasing a photography light box for photographing the Show and Tell items and brought in his own light box to show the club. General opinion was that there is interest, but we would need to work out storage with Rockler before proceeding.
