The executive board of the Southern Maine Woodturners would like to wish all the membership a safe and wonderful Holiday Season and may 2018 provide you all with great health and happiness!
As usual, our December 6th meeting begins at 6:30 pm and usually ends around 8:30 pm. Please make It a point to arrive early to socialize with fellow members.
In lieu of a demonstration at our meeting on December 6th, we will be having our yearly holiday Yankee Swap. Members who wish to participate (the more the merrier) should bring a gift valued at $15 and woodturning/woodworking related if possible. Historically, the most sought after gift swaps are items turned or handmade by members, these are priceless. The annual Yankee Swap has always been a fun and relaxing event, please consider taking part, the more people taking part truly makes it more fun for all!
Annual Southern Maine Woodturners membership dues are due for the 2018 calendar year. See our treasurer, David Ginsberg, if you haven’t yet done so. Annual Membership Dues are $20.
A great time was had by all at our annual Yankee Swap in December, if I recall correctly, there were 29 participants.
At our December ’17 meeting, I handed in my resignation to Leon Lowell as the club Secretary.
Leon Lowell appointed Johnna Klukas to take over this position for the remainder of the term. Thank you very much Johnna for stepping up and filling this void.
It’s been a pleasure serving as Secretary and am committed to doing my part to help the club run as smoothly as possible, where I can, going forward.
Sincerely, Roland Martin
