The Southern Maine Woodturners will be hosting an all-day demo by Australian woodturner Patrick Johnson on Saturday, July 2nd at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware on Gorham Rd, South Portland, Maine from 9 AM to 5 PM. The event is free to members of SoME Woodturners and $20 for non-members.
Patrick will be demonstrating a three legged bowl, a lidded scent pot, an elevated natural edge form and, if time permits, a button platter.
In his own words: “One of the main aims of my demos is to encourage turners to be challenged and think in a creative way. I include eccentric off-centre work and traditional turning with free form sculpting.”
SoME Woodturners will be working with one of the local sandwich shops to have lunches available for those who want them. Prices are TBD but are expected to be around $8 – $10. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER IF YOU WANT LUNCH. We’ll need to put the order in a few days before the demo.
